The Mortgage Assistance Program can help homeowners make their mortgage payments if they become unemployed as a result of a disability, layoff, or strike. Scholarship Programs

E.C.Hallbeck Memorial Scholarship - The E.C. Hallbeck Memorial Scholarship will award $8000 ($2000 annually) to ten recipients (one male and one female from each of the five postal regions) to apply towards their four-year college tuition. Click here for the application.

Vocational Scholarship - Vocational Scholarship winners will receive up to $3,000 for specialized training in such fields as culinary arts, medical or dental assistant, electrician, real estate, auto mechanic, certified IT/computer education, cosmetology, or massage therapy, etc. Eligible programs can be of a nine-month to three-year duration.  Click here for the application. https://apwu.org/vocational-scholarship

Austin Local 299 Orville Bennett/George Roman Memorial Scholarships – A review board of members in good standing who will screen applicants and select for approval of members in good standing applicants from graduating seniors, who are sons and daughters of members. To help union members protect their future against catastrophic illnesses, the APWU is pleased to offer Cancer Personal Indemnity and other Specified Health Event insurance coverage.

These comprehensive, affordable benefits, made available through American Family Life Assurance Company of Columbus (Aflac), are being offered exclusively to APWU members and their qualifying family members. These benefits are designed to provide a financial safety net to members should they or a covered family member suffer a serious illness. Both plans will pay cash benefits directly to policy holders, regardless of any other insurance they may have. Members can review plan benefits, rates, and apply online.

Accident Benefit Association

The Accident Benefit Association makes provision for the payment of benefits to its members and their beneficiaries in case of temporary disability, dismemberment or death resulting directly from a covered accident, independent of exclusive of other causes.
