Window Clerks Beware-
I have attended several Pre disciplinary interviews in the past 2 weeks for window clerks pushing the buttons for customers. Apparantly there was a fire on a plane and now the USPS is coming down on everyone who answers hazmat and other questions for their customers, so be very careful , its easy to forget because we want to help the customer but some managers and postmasters are getting carried away and disciplining clerks for this.
The Overtime has cut down since Christmas and some managers / supervisors are assigning carriers and RCAs to do our work, send us statements when this happens, this is a violation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Its important to always grieve it but especially now, we are trying to keep our jobs.
Always fill out a PS3971, in duplicate, when returning to work , to make sure you get the leave you requested when you called in.
